As part of their induction in January 2011, 55 new students were given the opportunity to try activities on Concord's High Ropes course.
New students starting in January 2011 enjoyed fun and games in the sports hall.
Concord's first ever Lower School Poetry Competition, which took place over three weeks in January 2011, gave the students a chance to practise their skills in preparation for their ESB exams later this term. Thank you to Mr Hudson and photography club for their contributions to the image gallery.

The second ever Starry Night Concert took place in the theatre on 13th February. Organised entirely by the students of the Outreach Society the concert featured the singing and dancing talents of a host of our very own Concord ‘Stars.’ The evening which had a romantic theme for Valentine’s Day was a sell-out success and raised £500 for charity.
On Tuesday 8th March Concord’s Charity Club organised a pancake sale to coincide with Shrove Tuesday. They raised over £100 in twenty minutes and provided hungry students and staff with some delicious pancakes!
The 3rd annual Fashion Show took place on February 12th 2011. For the first time this show was a competition in which to showcase the talents of designers, models and photographers. Many thanks to Mr Hudson and the Photography Club for the wonderful images below.
At half term a group of students went to Amsterdam to sample the cultural highlights of this European city.
The annual Spring Concert was performed to the Mayor of Shrewsbury on March 11th 2011 and showcased the very best of music and dance at Concord. The first half featured songs from musicals performed by the orchestra, choir, solo musicians and dance groups. The second half showcased the culture and talents of eleven of Concord’s international societies. It was a superb evening performed to a sell-out audience in the theatre!
On Friday 18th March students and staff dressed in pyjamas and wore red noses to raise money for Comic Relief. In the afternoon the first ever inter-boarding house fun sports took place on the lawn outside the Main Hall. Around £200 was raised for Comic Relief and the winners of the fun sports ... The Day Students!
On 26th March students from Concord’s Eco Club organised an event to celebrate Earth Hour, a global environmental awareness campaign which is marked between 8.30 pm and 9.30 pm local time the world over. All unnecessary lights around the college were switched off and over 100 students enjoyed an outdoor concert and refreshments at the West End. A banner was decorated by the students as a reminder of the fragility of the earth’s resources.
