Coach Transfers - 2012-2013

TIMINGS OF COACHES – PLEASE NOTE:

Students will be met by staff at Heathrow in the Terminal 3 arrivals lounge between 0600 & 0900 on the dates given for coaches from Heathrow to Concord. (Additional unstaffed evening coach transfers from Heathrow to Concord are often arranged for dates as indicated in brackets below.) Please also note that coaches taking students down to Heathrow are not accompanied by College staff.

Timings of coaches going to Heathrow are only finalised when students’ flight details are known. Students are asked to complete holiday forms and when these are collected in, about two weeks before any holiday, we organise coaches accordingly. It is most often the case that students take evening flights (i.e. departing 6pm or later) and coaches depart from Concord around 11am to enable students to catch such evening flights.

If students or parents reserve a seat on a bus to/ from Heathrow, there will be no charge for this service under normal circumstances. However, if a place on a bus is reserved and is not then used, a charge of £50 will be added to that student’s bill.

Reservations for seats on coaches can be made via e-mail to the Vice-Principal (Pastoral)’s office at the following address: VPPastoral@concordcollege.org.uk. Please book early and expect confirmation by return of your reservation since places on coaches are limited and numbers of coaches have to be booked in advance of student arrival and departure days.

Heathrow to Concord - SEPTEMBER 2012 & START UP OF ACADEMIC YEAR

Friday 7^thSeptember - Prefects

Sunday 9^th September - New Students, and ALL those students entering 6.1 and Form 4 (-including those returning from F5 & F3).

Tuesday 11^th September - Returning Form 5 & 6.2 Students.

(Unstaffed evening coaches leaving Heathrow c.5.30pm may be provided subject to demand from students returning on afternoon flights & by prior arrangement on 9^th &/or 11^th September.)

Concord to Heathrow - CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY

Saturday 8^th December – All students to leave Concord by 4pm unless they are 6.2 Oxbridge students attending late interviews.

Note: Only 6.2 students with interviews will be allowed to remain in Concord after 8^th December

Tuesday 11^th December - All 6.2 students to leave by 10am.

Heathrow to Concord - JANUARY 2013 START - UP

Sunday 6^th January - New students and Prefects

Tuesday 8^th January - Returning students (& an unstaffed evening coach at c.5.30pm may be provided subject to demand from students returning on afternoon flights & by prior arrangement)

Concord to Heathrow - EASTER HOLIDAY

Wednesday 27^th March

Note: All students under 16 must leave for the duration of the Easter holiday by 4pm on 27^th March until Sunday 14^th April.

Heathrow to Concord - BEGINNING OF SUMMER TERM 2013

Sunday 14^th April  ( & an unstaffed evening coach leaving Heathrow c.5.30pm may be provided subject to demand from students returning on afternoon flights & by prior arrangement)

Concord to Heathrow - END OF MAIN TERM ACADEMIC YEAR 2013

Saturday 22^nd June

Sunday 23^rd June (please see notes below)

Notes:

1. Form 3 & Form 4 students should leave by 4pm on Saturday 22^nd June along with any other students who have finished their external examinations.

2. All other students with external examinations after 22^nd June, are expected to leave within 24 hours of their final examination

3. Additional buses to Heathrow after 23^rd June might be arranged. This will depend on final external examination dates. At the time of writing, the final external examination date has not been confirmed.
